Master Olfords Biography
A Brief Biography of Master J.D. Olford
Master Olford and his wife, Annie, have been married for the past 31 years. They have three children (son) Jason and his wife Lisa, (daughters) Shannon and Ashley, and three grandchildren: Alexus, Deon, and Jamal. All three children are black belts and currently reside in Irving, Texas.
Master Olford is a member of New Zion Baptist, where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the board of the H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Excel) Center of North Lufkin.
Master Olford is an active member of Eta Kappa Kappa Graduate Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and also a member of the Lufkin Chamber of Commerce.
Master J.D. Olford began his martial arts career in 1975. In 1979 he received his 1st degree black belt. In 1980, Master Olford started the first ATA School in Texas. With unwavering determination and a sense of public duty, Master Olford has been able to keep and maintain his school for over 25 years.
Master Olford received his current rank of 6th degree black belt in 1997 and in 1998 participated in the first ever Master's Training Program in Las Vegas, Nevada. Master Olford has held many positions and offices within the ATA. He was elected Chief of Instruction, Regional Vice-President, National Advisor and has been inducted into the Region 112 Hall of fame in 1994. Master Olford's school received the honor of regional school of the year in 1995.
